THE WESTWOOD TROLL – WHERE DID THE STORY ORIGINATE

Where did the story originate?
Many, many years ago while working as a Nanny to four young children in the Beverley area, I used to drive with them to Beverley Westwood. This is common land on the outskirts of the town where the children had lots of space, freedom to play and take part in activities. That is when I first made up a story of “The Westwood Troll”. Later a version of the story was told to my own children and to generations of other children while I was working as a registered childminder. I only wrote the story down after my grandchildren were born.
The story is interactive and is an ideal way to engage young children in conversation and to promote language and thinking skills and to develop their imagination.
