William likes to Bounce!
The thrill of movement.
A range of physical activities both indoor and out should be encouraged and become part of children’s daily routine. Whether it is bouncing, jumping, hopping, skipping, galloping, climbing or doing leaps, twists and turns children enjoy the thrill of movement.
Through physical activities children develop self-expression and communication and learn about safety and risk. It also improves gross motor skills, spatial awareness, balance and locomotion.
Encourage children to improvise and make up games and use vocabulary to describe their movements. Regular physical movement can make a significant contribution to mental and emotional well- being in children.
